Gareth has been employed as an external club taker since May 2022.
Gareth runs both our weekly Junior (up to Year 7, age 12) and Senior (up to Year 11, age 16) Basketball Clubs at Boundary Oak School.
In addition to the clubs, he has helped run fixtures against other schools and clubs.
Gareth is a reliable and professional club taker, with good organisation skills and he works well with school staff.
He forms excellent relationships with pupils and staff alike, and he is very aware of current safeguarding regulations and procedures.
I have no concerns in relation to either behavior management and/or child protection/safeguarding concerns.
He has been transformational to our Basketball clubs, catapulting basketball into one of our most popular sports. He is engaging, friendly, and knowledgeable and his clubs are the most popular on offer.

Since September 2023, Outlet Basketball Club has been providing our extracurricular basketball training. This has been a fantastic addition to what the school could provide with a small staff body. A diverse range of pupils have taken up the opportunity to extend their learning beyond 3 p.m., enhancing the variety offered. Gareth provides brilliant instruction to pupils, developing their Basketball skills in a safe environment. Outlet Basketball Club was able to provide a range of documentation to show suitability to work with the pupils here at our school. Gareth holds several up-to-date qualifications to allow safe practice and detailed levels of Basketball coaching. Communication with the PE department and our pupils is always professional and timely, and in the coming months, we are already looking to expand and grow our connection with outlet basketball in support of inter-school basketball house competitions in the spring term.
